In September of 2019, I went on a tour that I originally dreamt up while on the tail end of my PCH July tour. I figured that if I was planning my next trip before my first one was over, then I was doing something right 😉
The stated target of this trip was Lolo Pass – a 122mi stretch of Highway 12 connecting Lolo, MT and Kooskia, ID. Home of the famous, “Winding Road Next 99 Miles” sign, it seemed like the perfect destination! I plotted out a week-long route that would stretch 1655mi via Vancouver, Bridal Veil Falls, Osoyoos, Libby, Lolo, Spokane, Winthrop and finally back home to Des Moines, WA. Along the way I met a lot of interesting people and saw many wondrous sights. I’d never been through southern British Columbia (although I’ve traveled just south of there on the US side of the border many times) and I was astonished an how beautiful that area was! The roads through that section of BC are extremely well-engineered and a joy to ride!
And yes, Lolo Pass was everything I dreamt it would be!
Presently (Sept. 16, 2019) I am terribly behind with the making of the video episodes and have yet to complete two remaining episodes from my July trip down the Pacific Coast. But this new gallery section ought to allow me to share at least a few short stories and photographs taken from that trip, until I get around to making the videos. As always, enjoy, share, and comment. 🙂
