July 2019 Tour Gallery

On my 2019 California tour, I got back into playing with cameras, lenses and night photography. When I returned, having broken my 3rd Fuji camera, I decided to make a plunge and buy some professional (and more durable) camera gear with an angle to astro-photography and low-light landscapes.

What does the 206’er use? (for nerds)

After doing some research, I acquired the full-frame Nikon D750 and right away began adding lenses to it. Presently, my astro lens is the amazing Sigma 20mm 1.4f. I’ve also picked up the monstrous Sigma 150-600mm 5f, with an x2 tele converter. This setup can really reach out and touch something! And I got it primarily for moon shots and wildlife photography. I have much to learn about layering and need to figure out a platform more stable than my manfrotto tripod, as with the weight of this setup I cannot seem to be able to eliminate micro-shaking, which made my first trial moon shots less than crisp. Finally, my kit came with a decent Nikkor 24-105 4f VR lens, which worked out terrifically well as a general purpose daytime portrait & landscape lens.

Below pics were taken with the Fuji X-100t & Samyang 12mm 2f lens
Let me know what you think of the snaps!
